Jamie Olive, 20 Minute Meals iPhone app…
Today I heard about and purchased Jamie Oliver's new iPhone app, featuring meals that you can create within 20 minutes as the title might suggest. I'm not normally one to harp on about my favourite apps since they are primarily terrible, but this is an astonishing achievement in terms of the care and attention that has been put into every aspect.
This is the first app I have come across that understand's the user's context: it has been designed and developed for the nervous cook wither in the kitchen or in the supermarket, and is an interesting example of what Brian Fling talked about at this year's dConstruct. The content is perfectly pitched, featuring good quality text, audio, video, and images, and its graphic design is top notch, following Jamie Oliver's consistent design throughout all his media.
