Lucky 7, Westbourne Park…

Here's an amazingly bad photo of an amazing burger which I had at Lucky 7 on Westbourne Park Road. It feels like a very authentic American diner (though I'm sure no American would agree), with requisite tatty leather booths and quaint pieces of Americana stuck on the walls. Go there, check it out, but be warned it gets busy and you can't book.

Do you eat crap?

I really love the little details in this ad for The Pump, in NYC... Look out for subliminal bacon.

How to make Kanelbullar, cinnamon buns

image

The other day we made Kanelbullar, which are Swedish cinnamon buns which taste amazing. I can recommend a visit to The Nordic Bakery in Golden Square who sell them too, along with coffee that is stronger than hell.

(Sorry the recipe is in Swedish - which I can’t read! I just thought it looked nice as a photo.)

London is a city of KFC rip-offs, and I love them all

image

I love all the KFC rip-offs around London (and pretty much everywhere in the UK) - they are all comically bad. I particularly like this one which I photographed near the office. Sadly the acronym doesn’t stand for Fried Chicken Kentucky Fried, which is what I’d call my chicken shop.

I want to hear about and see pictures/Google Street Views of your local KFC rip-offs, and build up a beautiful collection of photographs. Prizes for the funniest/most blatant/ridiculous.

Scanwiches: sandwiches, scanned

image

Pictured above is a Corned Beef, Mustard, on Rye, from Katz, and is featured on a brillaint Tumblr called scanwiches, which features simply “Scans of sandwiches for education and delight.” Quite right, and so far all the sandwiches look awesome. The unusual view-point is perfect since it’s the exact view you have of a sandwich moments before it crumbles into a greasy mess in your gob.

On the subject of sarnies though, I’d still maintain though that the New York Special from Franco’s, Rivington Street, is pretty difficult to beat.
